Singularity South Africa Summit Unveils New Speakers Driving Purpose-Led Leadership in the Age of AI

Johannesburg, 28 July 2025 – With Africa on the cusp of an exponential technology revolution, Singularity South Africa Summit 2025 promises to be a pivotal moment in shaping the continent’s leadership response to the AI era. Scheduled for 22–23 October 2025 at the Sandton Convention Centre, the summit will bring together thinkers, builders, and doers to unpack how artificial intelligence and leadership must align to drive inclusive, ethical, and future-proof transformation.

Presented in collaboration with headline sponsor Old Mutual and metaverse partner UBU, the event will explore the critical intersection of exponential technologies and values-led leadership under the theme “Igniting Africa’s Future.”

With 26+ global and local speakers already announced, the programme continues to expand—highlighting trailblazers in ethics, disruption, transparency, and human-centred innovation. The goal: Equip leaders across business, education, and technology with the mindset and tools to act with clarity in an age of volatility.

New Speakers, Sharper Perspectives

Six newly confirmed speakers will expand the conversation around how leadership and AI intersect in Africa’s unique context:

  • Paul Pagnato, business futurist and transparency expert, will argue that openness and trust are strategic imperatives in the AI-driven economy.

  • Mxolisi Mgojo, President of Business Unity SA and former Exxaro CEO, will discuss navigating sustainable growth through bold industry collaboration.

  • Prof. Bonang Mohale and Dr. Preeya Daya, both ethical leadership advocates, will deliver a joint call to action on values-based leadership and systemic reform.

  • Dr. Mark Nasila, author and AI ethics thinker, will present a keynote on human-centred AI, spotlighting why design thinking is the continent’s competitive edge.

  • Caroline van der Merwe, COO and tech entrepreneur, will explore inclusive innovation and expanding access through exponential tools.

From Theory To Impact

Sessions at Singularity SA 2025 will cover a wide arc—from real-world AI deployment strategies to the broader implications of tech governance, workforce transformation, and digital access.

“Leadership in the AI era requires new models—faster, ethical, and collaborative,” said Mic Mann, Co-CEO of Singularity SA.
“We are giving decision-makers the frameworks they need to lead with vision, agility, and purpose.”

“It’s not about predicting the future—it’s about building it,” added Shayne Mann, Co-CEO.
“These conversations are for leaders who act, who innovate, and who want to leave a legacy of inclusive progress.”

Old Mutual: Aligning Innovation With Purpose

Celiwe Ross, Director of Strategy, Sustainability, People and Public Affairs at Old Mutual, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting transformative leadership:

“This summit is more than a showcase of bright ideas. It’s a convening of leaders committed to bold, inclusive innovation. Old Mutual is proud to support this agenda.”

Engaging Minds On Every Platform

The summit experience will be hybrid, combining live sessions, workshops, networking, and an expo—accessible both in person and via UBU’s immersive metaverse platform.

Listeners can stay engaged through the Exponential Africa Podcast, available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms.
