Jackson Colt’s Monsoon is a powerful guitar instrumental produced by Mark Haze, combining tranquillity and chaos for a unique sonic journey.
Jackson Colt’s new release, ‘Monsoon’, is an instrumental journey showcasing his command over the guitar. Produced by the legendary Mark Haze, the track serves as a testament to Colt’s ability to channel emotions through his music. Monsoon flows effortlessly between soft, clean guitar sections and hard-hitting, distorted riffs, reflecting the unpredictability of nature.
Inspired by Colt’s personal experience of a fever that left him feeling overwhelmed, Monsoon symbolizes the storms we face in life and the peace that follows. “After every storm, a brighter day follows,” Colt explains, highlighting the philosophical underpinnings of the song. The song’s theme is further explored in the accompanying music video, shot by Keaton Ditchfield, which brings the Yin and Yang contrast to life with stunning visuals.
Colt’s skilful use of diverse guitar techniques is evident throughout Monsoon, with intricate fingerwork and sweeping arpeggios creating a sense of rising tension. This meticulous composition, paired with Haze’s production expertise, has resulted in a polished piece that stands out as one of Colt’s best works to date.
“Monsoon was a chance for me to push myself, both technically and emotionally. Working with Mark Haze elevated the track and took it to a new level,” says Colt.
