Johannesburg, 23 October 2024 | Air France is set to transform its in-flight connectivity, introducing free ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi across its entire fleet, available in all cabins starting in 2025. This enhancement, part of the airline’s premium service upgrade, allows passengers to enjoy a seamless, ground-like internet experience. La Première customers, however, will continue to enjoy the privilege of connecting directly*, providing an exclusive service tailored for the airline’s most elite travellers.
In collaboration with Starlink, the global leader in satellite technology, Air France will provide high-speed, low-latency internet access through Starlink’s vast constellation of low Earth orbit satellites. This ensures passengers stay connected from takeoff to landing, even in the most remote areas, though restrictions may apply when flying over certain countries.** With this advanced technology, travellers can stream movies, play online games, follow live news, and stay in touch with family and friends.
Accessing the new Wi-Fi service is easy and free for all passengers with a Flying Blue account, Air France-KLM Group’s loyalty program. Those without an account can sign up effortlessly while onboard. The service will work seamlessly across multiple devices, whether on smartphones, tablets, or laptops, giving passengers the flexibility to use more than one device at once.
Air France will gradually install this advanced Wi-Fi technology across all its aircraft, including its regional fleet, starting in the summer of 2025. During the rollout, aircraft not yet equipped with Starlink will still offer an onboard connectivity service, including a free “Message Pass” for Flying Blue members and a paid option for broader internet access. Free offers will be available for Flying Blue Ultimate and La Première customers* during the transitional period.
